Dr Daniel Griffiths

I'm a signal processing engineer and technical leader. I started in academia — PhD in signal processing, MEng in mechatronics — and moved into industry to build things that practitioners actually use.

I care about the intersection of physical measurement and software. Most of my work lives there: systems that model the real world accurately enough to be useful, built cleanly enough to be maintained.

I lead teams and I still write code. I think the two reinforce each other. A technical leader who has stopped building loses the instinct for what's hard, what's fast, and what's worth doing.

Outside work I'm building ParticleWrench — a wave propagation simulator for ultrasonic NDT inspection planning. It's the kind of tool that should exist in the domain and doesn't. Building it is as much about staying sharp as it is about shipping something useful.
